Meeting Minutes / December 13, 2005

Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by the Club President Phil Slack (Phil’s last meeting as President). Thanks Phil!

OLD BUSINESS

Minutes: Motion to approve the November 8, 2005 meeting minutes was seconded and approved.

Treasurer’s Report: Report given by Phil Slack. Deposits: $101.00 from last month’s 50/50 raffle, 2 new memberships with and ending balance of $3469.29. Christmas Party expenses were $3893.01, $2836.72 was made on raffles/auctions, net cost for the party was $1056.29.

Additional Expenses for this month:

Cost of flowers sent to Annette Poe. Annette had a close family member pass away. Because of this Jim and Annette were unable to attend the party, the money they paid to attend the party was refunded to them.

Secretary: Shannon Anderson – There was an error in last meeting’s minutes in reporting the meeting time for the Christmas Parade. Please review the minutes when they are posted on the web and report any discrepancies to Shannon via email.

Clothing: Report given by Anne Jones – Still having problems with the new Vendor. He keeps promising orders will be ready the end of “this week”. After getting a consensus from the club, Anne will give the vendor an ultimatum. He must have all back orders filled by Friday at 5:00 PM or we will look for another vendor and he will need to refund any monies. If the orders are ready, Anne will pick them up and contact anyone who had an order to make arrangements for pick-up..

Webmaster: Report given by Pete Ruff – A 2 year host service was purchased from GoDaddy.com for $75.84. They will guarantee 99.9% up time.

Pete will be creating a secondary web page for club members who have dial up service. The page will eliminate graphics for faster page loads. The address will be: www.cameronparkcorvettes.org/ng

If you have event photos, please send them to Pete. If there are already photos of an event you can submit additional photos to post. Pete will also be posting some videos clips on the web.

Historian: Report given by Keith Becky – Keith took 2 camera loads of picture at the Christmas Party. They are being developed.

November 13 Mystery Brunch (George Goolsby) - Trip was to Berkeley at His Lordships. 7-8 cars attended. It was a fun cruise.

December 3 Just for Corvettes, Toy Run-Arco Arena (Harland Dains) – Event was taken over by Sacramento Area Corvettes. 4 club members met at Brookfield’s and cruised to Arco Arena to meet an additional 4-5 club members. There were 133 cars total turnout for the event, with no accidents this year.

December 4 Christmas Parade in Placerville – 13 cars total—11 from the club and 2 from Capitol Vette’s. Parade was a success, threw lots of candy. Special Thanks to John and Carmen for reloading when the candy ran out.

December 10 Annual Christmas Party – There were 60 people at the party. It was a fun night with great raffle prizes put together by Dan & Laura Groat. $275 was raised from the auction of 3 framed prints, $900 raised from the auction of the Hawaii condo and $930 raised from the raffle. Most people stayed until the very end. It was a little crowded so we may need to look at an alternate location for next year. Thanks to Paul & Barbara Hudgins, Jim & Sylma Davis and Dan & Laura Groat for organizing the event.

March 17-19, 2006 14^th Annual Gambler’s Classic Poker Run, Primm, Nevada (Paul & Barbara Hudgins) the flyer is on the web. This year you can pick and choose which events you want to pay for and attend. Rooms are at Buffalo Bill’s $47.00 per night. Make your reservations. The Hudgins will be leaving on Tuesday, spending Wednesday in Death Valley, Thursday in Vegas then onto Primm. The Vallejo club is going down Thursday. If you will be attending you can coordinate schedules at the January or February meeting.

Spring 2006 Picnic/Poker Run, Angels Camp (Bob & Mary Graham). Potential date for this is the End of May (Sunday). Mary will work on it, more details to follow.

July 7-9, 2006 High Desert Corvettes Deschutes River Run, Redmond OR. (George Goolsby) This is a well organized event. George is planning on attending. The flyer is posted on the website.

FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS

New Events/runs: Vicki Braithwaite may be planning a Napa Run/Wine Tour, possibly mid to late April.

The San Simeon run is April 7-8? The Davis’ have hosted this in the past. This is open for someone to host. Rooms have not been reserved. If you are going, you need to research and book rooms.

Closing: Motion was made, seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:35 PM.
