Slack, Jack & Jane Stanley, Jon & Susan Svilich. Nick
from Family Chevrolet spoke briefly to the group about purchasing new
cars. Family will beat any quote (in
writing) that is brought to them from other dealerships. Also, Nick left some information on car
ordering, as well as information on cars that he has available. He stressed to members that it they don’t
have an “order number” printed out in writing, they don’t have a car on
order, so be careful when dealing with other dealerships or on the
internet. Nick also mentioned that for
Chevy employees and family members there is special pricing available. One member has already taken advantage of
it, saving thousands. OLD BUSINESS Minutes: Motion to approve the Treasurer’s Report: Report given by Jim
Poe: Deposits=$135.00 ($105 from last
months raffle and one new membership).
Miscellaneous expenses totaling ($179.37) for an ending account
balance=$4,745.83. Jim Poe gave a check
to Shaylynne Slack for $750.00 for Christmas Party

Rodgers NOTE:
It was decided that each member of the new raffle team should have
their own roll of raffle tickets so that there will always be tickets
available at the meetings for raffles to take place. Everyone seemed to
have a great time. There were a lot
of people who got up close and personal with Captain Morgan! There were 14-17 cars. Everyone had fun playing the slot machines
that actually paid off! Thanks Bill
& Cheryl. October 7, 2006: Annual Show &
Shine/Fly-In at Cameron Park Airpark, CA – (Phil & Shaylynne
Slack)
– Phil reported 10 cars attended. The weather was great but the turn out
overall was low due to 3 other car/plane shows taking place the same day. The club easy-up didn’t work, as it seems
that some of the rails are bent. A
10x10 would be much better (so that it would actually fit in someone’s car!). The large easy-up will be raffled off at
the next meeting. Barbara Collier will
take suggestions to the event coordinators – choose a day with no other
events, don’t have it on a 3-day weekend, maybe Sunday, instead of Saturday, like in the past. Only 3 cars
attended. The colors were beautiful
and the temperature, 80-85 degrees, was perfect. NEW BUSINESS Vice President, Events Coordinator: George Goolsby October 28, 2006: Chrome Bumper Corvette Show,
Folsom, CA – (No Host) This event will be held at Red Robin in Folsom for ’53 –
’73 Vettes only.
Pete Ruff to host as the Leddington’s car is
not running. Information is on the
web-site. Date?: Annual
Christmas Parade in FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS New Events/Runs Phil Slack reported that he spoke
with Nick prior to the meeting regarding the sponsorship check from Family
Chevrolet. Nick promised to get it to
him within the week. Also, since there
has been so much talk about bringing back the “social” aspect, as well as
food, to our meetings, Phil looked into holding the meetings at Steve’s Pizza
in El Dorado Hills. He met with the
owner who was thrilled with the idea.
They have a room that will hold 60 people at no charge and everyone
places their own orders, so there are no waitresses needed (menus were passed
around). Jim
Davis actually looked at the location, but didn’t think that there was enough
parking. Barbara Collier used to work
nearby and indicated that there is a lot of parking behind the location, as
well as the fact that the bank will be closed in the evenings so that will
free up more parking in the front. Barbara
Rodgers expressed her concerns about moving the meetings to El Dorado
Hills. She didn’t want to drive that
far down the hill and wants the meetings to stay in Cameron Park, as it is
the “Cameron Park Corvette Club”. After
further discussion, a motion was made, seconded and approved to try Steve’s
Pizza out for our next meeting. The
address is Steve Pizza’s, Jon Svilich
brought in business cards for MSI in Adjournment: Motion was made,
seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting. RAFFLE 50/50: No tickets were at the
meeting to hold a raffle.
