Call to Order:                         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 by the President ‘o the day (a.k.a. Treasurer) Jim Poe

OLD BUSINESS

 

Minutes:                                 Motion to approve the July 12, 2005 meeting minutes was seconded and

Approved.

 

 

Treasurer’s Report:              Report given by Jim Poe.  $78.00 was deposited from last month’s 50/50 raffle.  The ending balance is $4,140.34.

 

Secretary:                               Shannon Anderson – nothing to report.

 

Clothing:                                 Report given by Vicki Braithwaite – We have a new vendor.  We are using the same logo.  Everything should be ready next month.  See Vicki to view the catalog and obtain an order form.

 

Easy-Up Purchase:                 John Reese purchased a 12 x 12 easy up.  Cost was $118.00.  This will be for the club’s use.  John will hold the Easy up until someone can pick it up.

 

August 12, 13:                         6th   Black Vette Gathering - Reno NV – No attendance.

 

 

August 13:                               Rio Vista Chamber of Commerce Corvette Car Show in downtown Rio Vista – Tom Krakker attended the event and won Best in Class.  There were 100 cars.  The event was held in the old section of downtown Rio Vista and was hosted by Discover Bay.  It was a beautiful area.

 

August 20-21:                         Mammoth Lakes Run - Hosted by John & Kathy Reese.  This was a good trip.  Cruised to Markleville over the Summit to 395 and on to Mammoth.  The group stayed at the Shilo and lost hot water on Sunday morning.  Traffic was fairly good and good weather.  A special thanks to George Goolsby for setting up lunch on Sunday.  John and Kathy are looking into a 4-day run to Mammoth with a stop in Yosemite.  More information to follow at a later date.

 

 

August  20:                              Hot August Nights, Rescue Fire Department – No attendance.

 

 

August 27:                               New Covenant Christian Ministries -Classic & Corvette Car Show – No attendance.

 

 

August  27:                                       Fort Bragg Weekend - CPC Hosts Collier.  Report by George Goolsby.  Three cars attended and picked up a fourth in Petaluma.  The group lunched at the Tides in Bodega Bay and went on to Fort Bragg.  It was 90 degrees in Sacramento when they left and 61 degrees when they arrived in Fort Bragg.  The cool weather was a welcome relief.   They spent the night at the Tradewinds Inn and dined in an Italian Restaurant.

 

 

August 28:                                         Impromptu Tahoe Run – Report by Dana Jones.  15 cars showed up at this last minute run.  The group took 80 to Truckee where they had lunch.  They cruised around Incline, down Lakeland Drive and stopped at the Casinos.  Some won, some lost.  It was a Great Run!  The Clemens hosted a great breakfast.

 

Sept. 2,3:                                Red Vette Gathering  Reno, NV – No attendance.  Next year there will be an all colors Vette Gathering in Reno, organized by Rocky, it might be in July. 

 

Sept. 5:                                    Labor Day Parade in Diamond Springs – Report by George Goolsby.  This went well, there were 7 cars in the parade.  Some of us met at Casa Ramos after the parade.  Lots of candy was thrown to the kids.

 

Sept. 9-11:                               6th Annual Cruisin’ in the Pines Car Show, Grass Valley (1972 and older American-Made Classic Vehicles) – No Attendance.  The cars usually get very sappy at this event.

Sept. 15-18, 2005                   37th Annual Lake Tahoe Tour - Fresno Corvettes (Brusby/Collier/Clemens/Slack) – If you would like to drive up for the day the Collier’s are hosting a hospitality room on Friday and Saturday from 3:00 PM to 3:00 AM in room 604 at the Lake Forest Suites behind Harrah’s. 

 

 

Sept. 18, 2005                         Corvette Spectacular, Main Street Los Altos, hosted by Santa Clara Corvettes – No interest at this time

 

Sept. 25, 2005                         2nd Annual Angels Camp Picnic (Graham) – This has been changed to Spring of 2006

 

October 1, 2005                      Show & Shine/Fly-In, Cameron Park Airpark.   If you are attending this event meet at 7:00 AM at the parking lot of Kentucky Fried Chicken on Cameron Park Drive.  Everyone can drive over as a group.  Pancake breakfast is at 7:30 AM.

 

December 10, 2005                CPCC Christmas Party -  (Davis/Hudgins/Groat) No one present to report.

 

 

FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS

 

Information:                           Stan Anderson reported that his 2001 Vette is using oil.  He spoke with the Service Manager at Placerville Chevrolet because there was a recall related to this.  The service manager stated he may be able to get the car covered if the oil consumption is less than 2,000 miles per quart.  He is looking into this.  Other members reported they heard the recall would only cover the car if the consumption was less than 500 miles per quart.

 

Former Member                    Dawn Becky reported that a former member of the club, Dave Gormes passed away.  The memorial is on Saturday.  Email Dawn for the details if you are interested in attending.

 

Closing:                                  Motion was made, seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting at 7:40 PM.

 

 

Raffle:                                    50/50 Raffle - $68 to the club, $65 to the winner, Harland Dains
