                                                            MEETING MINUTES/JULY 13, 2010

 

Call to Order:         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Club President John Reese.

Minutes:                   Motion made by Jon Svilich and seconded by Bob Graham to approve the June 8, 2010 minutes.

 

Treasurer:            Peggy Sue Croswhite reported $2,697.41 as the beginning balance with income of $160.00 ($80.00 50/50, $80.00 donation by George Goolsby)  with  $00.00 expenses making our ending balance $2,857.41.

                              

Secretary:               No report 

 

Clothing:              Barbara Collier brought in the new club jackets that had been ordered.       

 

Webmaster:            No report

 

Raffle Organizers:            Bob Graham reported collecting $210.00

 

Club Historian:      No report

 

Old Business:       June 12th  - Dinner run to Woodbridge near Lodi.  George reported he had 7 cars plus Karen Strachan’s car who met them at the restaurant.  Everyone had a good time.

 

                             June 19th - Corvettes at Lake Tahoe.  Pete Ruff led a convoy of 12 Corvettes to South Lake Tahoe.  Met up with John & Carmen Clemens and John & Kathy Reese who were all ready there.  No one from the club had their car entered in the Show ‘N Shine. 

 

                             July 2nd All Corvette Friday Car Show hosted by Phil Fischbach.  Phil reported that besides him; Tom Krakker, George Goolsby and Bob Graham attended

                             the event.  They had about 40-50 cars and had to turn away add’l cars because of lack of space.  A lot of non-Corvette people were there to enjoy looking at all the different models.

 

 

 

New Business:     July 16-17th - Corvettes on the High Desert in Sisters Or hosted by Rick & Karen Samoian.  Only the Reese’s & Samoian’s have signed up for this event.

 

                             July 18th – Georgetown Divide Lunch Run.  Host Peggy Sue Croswhite would like to put on this lunch run to Cool at the American River Pizza & Grill for this Sunday.  Please notify her if you wish to attend.  Details will be on the website.

                            

                             Aug 7th – Big Springs Lunch Run.  Host George Goolsby needs to know ASAP who is going to attend.  It is $37.00 a person for lunch and once you have committed there will be no refunds.  This might be the last opportunity to visit this beautiful place near Sierra City with a wonderful buffet lunch of BBQ beef, chicken, ribs and salmon with homemade salads and desserts.

 

                             Aug 28th – MS Dixie Dinner Dance Cruise.  Host Peggy Sue Croswhite reported there are 8 people signed up.  If you wish to join this event, the cost per person will be $65 for the cruise and shuttle and payment has to be made to her ASAP.  If you cannot pay her tonight, then e-mail and send her a check by next week.  If you are planning to spend the night, hotel reservations might be available at the Horizon.

 

                             Sept 15-17th – Utah Salt Flats Assn – 130/150MPH event.  Host Will Gilliland unfortunately reported his car would not be ready for this event.  If you wish to attend this event and have any questions, please contact Will.

 

                             Sept 24-26 – Inverness/Pt Reyes/Tomales Bay overnighter.  Host Barbara Collier asked if people were still interested in this outing.  After receiving a positive reply she said she would look into finding accommodations and she will be sending out e-mails with updated information.

 

Floor Open to Members:

Barbara Collier & Vicki Braithwaite reported the Christmas party for December 4th has been arranged.  The location will be the Best Western with 10 rooms blocked for $89 if you wish to spend the night.  DJ Turbo Ted  has been booked and Keith Becky will be preparing the dinner.

 

Members gave Gray Eagle and Markleville as ideas for future runs.  Rick Samoian then asked Karen Strachan if she would host the Markleville run.

 

Vickie Braithwaite said she enjoyed the last Saturday dinner run we had and if we could do another.  The Buckhorn in Winters was suggested.  George Goolsby said he would look into it.
