Call to Order: The meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President, Phil Slack

Old Business

 

Minutes:                     A motion was made & seconded to approve the May 10, 2005 meeting minutes.  Motion carried, minutes were approved as written.

 

Treasurer’s Report:  The report was given by Jim Poe.  Report dated 6/10/2005 provided.  This month we had 4 new memberships for $120.00, $82.00 from last meetings 50/50 raffle and a payment of $108.00 was made to Barbara Collier to reimburse her for the Sly Park Deposit for July 4th picnic.  Balance as of 5/31/2005 us $3959.33

 

If you have changes to the roster see Jim.  It is a good idea to include your cell phone number on the roster.  This is helpful when you are doing day runs.  See Jim to add your cell phone number.

 

 

Secretary:                   Introduction of new secretary, Shannon Anderson

 

May 21, 2005             Golden State Corvettes, All Corvette Car Show, Stockton CA—Tom Krakker attended the show.  There were approximately 50 cars, mostly from the central and southern valley.  It was a good show and perfect day.   Trend is to kick the car shows out of the park which is why more shows are being hosted at Car Dealers

 

May 27 – 28, 2005     Checkerboard (Red & Black) Corvette Gathering in Primm, Nevada – no attendance

 

June 4-5, 2005            Vette Magic 30, Sacramento – Good attendance. Awards were given to Tom Krakker who had a perfect score in the 68-82 modified division.  Jim Davis tied for 1st place with 99.75 score in the C-5 Custom division.  Jim Poe took 3rd place with a core of 99 even, Dayna Jones took 7th place.

 

June 4, 2005               Car Rally around Lake Tahoe – Patty and Ron McCoy attended this.  It was a fund raiser for the Cancer society.  It was fun.  Ron will promote this event better next year.

 

June 10-12, 2005        3rd Annual Corvettes at Lake Tahoe – Good participation.  John Clemens took 2nd place with his ’59 Corvette.  Next year this will be at the Horizon.  The first year this event had 33 cars, this year was the third year with nearly 200 cars participating.  The Sunday drive around the lake was nice with no congestion. 

 

New Business

 

Web Master:              Report from Pete Ruff.  He is having trouble with one last email address for Ron and Gwen Duncan.  Ron and Gwen should see Pete to get it resolved. 

Pete is getting flyers concerning events and is posting them on the website.  If you have a day run you would like to do email Pete or email everyone via the website. 

Suggestion to do a test email to yourself to be sure your address is working

 

Club Historian:           Keith Becky had nothing to report.  Sara Duncan brought in some photos from the Lake Tahoe trip that she will give to Keith.

 

Clothing:                     Vicki is looking for a replacement to do the club clothing.  She is having issues with the current vendor.  There was general discussion about changing vendors.  Vicki will contact a new vendor to get an estimate of the cost to develop a new club logo to get away from the current vendor.  Vicki to report back

 

June 18, 2005             3rd Annual SAC TOWN show n’ shine at Sunrise Mall—there will be a DJ, Raffles, Kids games, dash plaque

 

June 25, 2005             Day Run to Ice House (Stan Anderson) –Meet at the Starbuck’s in Placerville on Broadway.  Stan will arrive at 8:00, we’ll leave by 9:00 a.m.  Run will go from Placerville to 193 out to Georgetown, to Stumpy Meadows for a break then over Wentworth Springs and Ice Roads to US 50.  Los Hermanos outside dinning has been reserved for Lunch. 

 

July 4, 2005                Annual 4th of July Pleasant Valley Parade and Sly Park Picnic – Meet at the Park and Ride on Missouri Flat Road at 9:15, the group will leave at 9:30.  We need to arrive at the Parade site by 10:00 a.m.  Keith Becky will have his truck at the Park and Ride if you need to transport any coolers, etc…up to the picnic area.  Be sure to bring items to decorate your car and LOTS of candy to throw for the kids.  Ten pounds of candy might be enough.  Costco has 5 lb bags.  You may be able to get the window cling decorations at the dollar store. 

Picnic – the club provides the drinks (sodas, water, and alcoholic concoction) and tri-tips.  Club members provide the side dishes.  The picnic is at Sly Park in the Dooga area, it is to the right after entering the park.  Back in to park.  Some parking will be roped off to save spaces for parade participants who will arrive later.  There will be a 50/50 raffle; you can also bring prizes to raffle.

 

July 15-17, 2005         21st SOCA Corvette Weekend, Grants Pass, Oregon – Some club members are interested.  Next meeting Phil will confirm the number of members going and determine a meeting time/place.  This is a lot of fun; they have the best raffle, great BBQ’s, dinner, jet boat rides

 

July 28-31, 2005         Vettes on the Rockies, Breckenridge, Colorado – No interest.  Phil stated this is a good trip to do every other year.  Phil and Shaylynne went last year and may consider going next year. 

 

July 28-31, 2005         Vette Fest, Boise Idaho – (Bob Naylor) – Bob was not present

 

Date ??                       Day Run to “Big Springs Garden” (Barbara Collier) – There is some interest.  This is up near Downiville.  Barbara will have the date at the next meeting and will provide details so Pete can post it on the web site.

 

Sept. ?, 2005               Labor Day Parade in Diamond Springs – no information on this yet.  Barbara Collier will research

 

Sept. 9-11, 2005         6th Annual Cruisin’ in the Pines Car Show, Grass Valley – This is for 1972 and Older American Made Classic Cars.  It is in the Grass Valley park grounds.  There will be a BBQ, live music, dancing, $1,000. in cash awards, a Poker run on Sunday morning.  Pete will post the information on the web site.

 

Sept. 15-18, 2005       37th Annual Lake Tahoe Tour (Fresno Corvettes) – (Brusby/Collier/Clemens/Slack).  If you are going you need to make reservations. The Colliers will open there room up to club members for snacks/drinks and socializing.  There is a Space Alien theme with a costume dinner.  There are 7 club rooms set up with drinks and food.  100 cars go.

 

Sept. 25, 2005             2nd Annual Angels Camp Picnic – (Graham) More information on this later

 

October 1, 2005          Show and Shine/Fly-In at Cameron Park Airport – This is normally on a Sunday and will be held on a Saturday this year.  This is a big event for the club.  There were more than 400 cars last year.  Bring shade if you attend, it is hot.

 

December 10 2005     CPCC Christmas Party – A suggestion was made for future parties to have them at the Four Seasons Lodge in the community that Sherrie and Ron are moving to in EDH.  More information later

 

Floor Open to Members:

 

1.      There is an event in Victorville, Barbara Collier will bring info to the next meeting.

 

2.      Sara Cox received an email regarding a show and shine occurring every Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. in Old Roseville.

 

3.      Mike and Janet Gould will be making a run tomorrow to Kirkwood for a burger.  See Mike if you are interested.

 

4.      License plate issue – Ron Duncan was stopped and given a ticket for no front plate.  Suggestion was made to put the plate on under the plate cover.  This will allow you to remove the plate cover easily if stopped.

Raffle:                        50/50 Raffle - $78 to the club, $78 to the winner.  Sylma Davis won the raffle!!
