CAMERON PARK CORVETTE CLUB

                                                            MEETING MINUTES/JUNE 8, 2010

 

Call to Order:         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Club President John Reese.

                                             

Guests:                New members Randy & JoAnn Bisbee and father-in-law Duane were introduced.  Guest, Tammy Tull, owner of a ’71 convertible joined the meeting in progress.

Minutes:                   Motion made by Jon Svilich and seconded by Peggy Sue Croswhite to approve the May 11, 2010 minutes.

 

Treasurer:            Peggy Sue Croswhite reported $2,232.41 as the beginning balance with income of $465.00 ($70.00 50/50, $90.00 membership, $140.00 Angels Camp and $165.00 mystery auction Angels Camp) with  $00.00 expenses  making our ending balance $2,697.41.

Old Business:       May 16th Hangtown Car Show on Main St in Placerville.  Randy Bisbee, Rick Samoian and Will Gilliland attended and said it was a good car show.

 

                             May 22nd Second Annual Abel Chev Car Show in RioVista.  Hosted by Vicki

Braithwaite.   No one attended this show.

 

                             May 23rd Fifth Annual Angels Camp Picnic hosted by Graham’s/Reese’s and Chef Goolsby.  Mary Graham reported there were 23 participants.  Matt & Rob Croswhite won the balloon toss at $25.00 each and Mike Jackson won the remote control corvette race at $30.00.  There were plenty of raffle prizes.  Each family left with at least one raffle prize.  Mary wanted to thank George for doing the cooking and providing the mystery auction prize with Mike Jackson as the winning bidder.  She also thanked the members who all brought great raffle prizes and food to share.  $305.00 was given to the club treasury.

                             May 29th Fallen Warriors Car Show in El Dorado Hills on Town Center Blvd. 

                             Tom Krakker reported this show was a great success.  They had so many cars trying to enter that they had to turn some away.

 

                             June 5-6th Vette Magic Car Show & Drags.  Host Tom Krakker reported this was a good show but attendance was down by 25% but the quality of show cars was up.  Phil Fischback reported that Tom Krakker’s car had a perfect score of 100 points.  Several club members attended the drags on Sunday and said they had a good time but attendance was also down.

 

 

New Business:     June 12th Big Springs Garden near Sierra City lunch run has been postponed according to Host George Goolsby.  The owner of the property is in the hospital and we will have to reschedule to a later date.  George will e-mail with either an August or September date.

 

                             June 17-20 Corvettes at Lake Tahoe.  Hosts John & Kathy Reese will be leaving on Friday.  Anyone that wants to join us please call.  For those that are planning on coming Saturday only for the car show, a group will be leaving from the Safeway at 9:00am.

 

                             July 2nd All Corvette Friday Car Show will be hosted by Phil Fischbach.

 

                             July 16-17th Corvettes on the High Desert in Sisters Or hosted by Rick & Karen

                             Samoian.  So far only the Reese’s & Samoian’s have signed up for this event.

 

Floor Open to Members:

 

Peggy Sue Croswhite reported on the August 28th MS Dixie Dinner Dance Cruise.  The cost per person will be $65 for the cruise and shuttle and payment has to be made to her ASAP.  If you cannot pay her tonight, then e-mail and send her a check by next week.  If you are planning to spend the night, hotel reservations should be made soon.

 

George Goolsby has decided he will check into possibly making arrangements for July 4th at South Lake Tahoe.  He will be sending out an e-mail.

 

Mary Graham asked since the lunch run to Big Springs Garden for this Saturday has been postponed, could we find an alternate location for a lunch run?  It was decided that we could possibly go to Woodbridge near Lodi instead.  Watch for an e-mail from George with final information for this Saturday.
