MEETING MINUTES/MAY 12, 2009

 

 

Call to Order:         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Club President John Reese.

Minutes:                   Motion made, and seconded to approve the April 14, 2009 minutes.

 

Treasurer:               Jim Poe reported that the balance in the account is $1981.99

 

Secretary:               Kathy Reese, nothing to report.

 

Clothing:                  Barbara Collier, not present.

 

Webmaster:            Pete Ruff, nothing to report.

 

Raffle Organizers:    Tickets at Angels Camp will be $1.00 apiece.

 

Club Historian:          Keith Becky, not present.

 

Old Business:

                                    Napa Poker Run hosted by Tom & Vickie Braithwaite.  There were 9 cars on the run.  Dana reported he had fun with his conversation with the grumpy CHP officer who pulled him over for everything except speeding. Dana Jones & Phil Slack won the poker hands.

 

 New Business:   

                             Angels Camp Picnic – Meet at Starbucks on Latrobe.  Bob Graham will be leading the group.   This will be a Bar-B-Q potluck with games and raffle prizes.  George will do the barbeque of hotdogs and hamburgers. Bob Graham will do the games.  Please bring prizes for the raffle.  Report by Kathy Reese.

                            

                             Vette Magic – Tom Krakker not present for report.

 

                             Ice House Run – Naylor’s not present for report.

                                     

                             Corvettes at Lake Tahoe – Dana wants to meet at Safeway leaving 9:00 sharp.

 

                             Big Springs Gardens – Let George Goolsby know if you want to go.  $37.00 a person.  Need to bring cash or a personal check.  No credit cards.

 

                             4th of July Annual Picnic at Sly Park – Barbara Collier not present for report.

 

                             4th of July Tahoe Fireworks – George reports reservations at the Lakeside Inn

                             need to be made.  Dinner will be at the Charthouse. 

 

                             Rockin’ on the Rogue – Motel space is limited.  George reports this is one of the best runs.  We are to leave at 8:00 with breakfast at Granzilla’s in Williams.

 

                             Thunderhill – Larry Savio says you don’t have to track your car; you can just be a spectator and still have fun.

 

                             Christmas party – Vickie and Barbara not present.    

 

                                    Show & Shine at the new Sierra Vista Bank in Cameron Park – George Goolsby was contacted by an employee of the bank who wanted a car show for their grand opening.  The bank would supply hot dogs and hamburgers.  The club decided it would like to support a new business in Cameron Park with as many of our club member’s cars as possible.  The show has been scheduled for Friday, June 12th at 5:30p.m.

 

Floor open to Members:          Pete Ruff reported that the Fresno Corvette Club puts on a run at Lake Tahoe in September that might be fun to go on.  It has been added to the Events page.  
Will Gilliland announced there is a Rolex race at Laguna Seca this weekend if anyone was interested.

Raffle 50/50            $160.00 total –  $80.00 won by George Goolsby.
