                                                            MEETING MINUTES/MAY 11, 2010

 

Call to Order:         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Vice Pres. Rick Samoian.

Minutes:                   Motion made by Jon Svilich and seconded by Laura Groat to approve the

April 13, 2010 minutes.

 

Treasurer:            Peggy Sue Croswhite reported $2,212.41 as the beginning balance with income of $100.00 ($70.00 raffle and $30.00 membership) and $80.00 expenses(digitized embroidery logo for jackets)  making our ending balance $2,232.41.

                              

Secretary:               No report 

 

Clothing:                  Barbara Collier brought an embroidered jacket logo to the meeting.  It was decided to make the checkered flag black & white.  The cost to order a jacket will be $61.76 plus an add’l $6.00 if you want to include your name.  Barbara will need a check before she can order the jackets.  She will be placing an order at the end of this week.  She will need the money upfront.

Old Business:       April 17th run to Ironstone Vineyards near Murphy.  Hosted by Jan & Gary Leonard.  It was a beautiful day with a tour of the gardens, lunch and wine tasting.  Four cars.

                                      

                             April 24th Napa Wine & Poker Run hosted by Tom & Vicki Braithwaite.  Another beautiful day with five cars.  Lunch was at the v. Sattui Winery in St. Helena followed by wine tasting at Van Der Heyden vineyards.  Bob Graham won the poker hand.

 

                             April 30th – May 2nd Monterey Peninsula overnighter hosted by George Goolsby. Beautiful but windy weather.  Peggy Sue Croswhite placed second in the stock class with her “82 coupe.  The winner was a 2010 just off the showroom floor.

 

                             May 1st Corvette Care Grand Opening hosted by Collier/Becky.  Barbara Collier reported they had a great turnout.  She thanked everyone for coming.

 

 New Business:    May 16th Hangtown Car Show on Main St in Placerville.  No host.

 

                             May 22nd Second Annual Abel Chev Car Show in RioVista.  Hosted by Vicki

Braithwaite.  Vicki was not present to report.  Suggest finding info on the web site or calling Vicki.

 

                             May 23rd Fifth Annual Angels Camp Picnic hosted by Graham’s/Reese’s and Chef Goolsby.  Mary Graham reported there will be food, games and raffle prizes.  Please bring a side dish to share and raffle prizes.  Notify Mary by phone or e-mail if you are planning on attending.  We need a headcount to purchase food by Monday, May 17th.

                            

                             May 29th Fallen Warriors Car Show in El Dorado Hills on Town Center Blvd. 

 

                             June 5-6th Vette Magic Car Show & Drags.  Saturday’s car show will be at the Marriott’s in Rancho Cordova.   Tom Krakker will be leaving from the Starbucks in EDH at 7:30a.m. if you wish to convoy.  On Sunday, Corvette only drags will be at the Sacramento Raceway.

 

                             June 12th Big Springs Garden near Sierra City lunch run will be hosted by George Goolsby.  Lunch will be $37 a person and the money will be collected beforehand.  George has 7 cars signed up. 

 

                             June 17-20 Corvettes at Lake Tahoe.  This event will be hosted by John & Kathy Reese.  At the next meeting, it will be decided on the time and meeting place to leave from on Friday. There will be appetizers on Friday nite, BBQ lunch on Saturday and banquet dinner that evening. If you can’t stay the weekend, plan on coming Saturday only for the car show.

 

Floor Open to Members:

 

Will Gilliland reported there will be a Wine Country Classis at the Infineon Raceway on June 5th.

 

Peggy Sue Croswhite reported on the MS Dixie Dinner Dance Cruise.  The cost per person will be $65 for the dinner and cruise.  The per person charge will go up to $75 if she does not have enough people attending.  She will be collecting money at the June meeting for this event.  She also checked about hotel rates if you wish to spend the night and found the Montbleu the most reasonable at $135 or $145 per night.

 

Kathy Reese reported she and John will be going to Breckenridge CO , July 22-25 for the “Vettes on the Rockies” .  Contact them if you wish to attend.  Info is on the website.  Also the Corvette National Museum’s next annual cruise will be the end of February 2011.  It will be a one week cruise around the Hawaiian Islands.  The information will be added to the club’s website at a later date.
