OLD BUSINESS

Minutes:                                   A motion was made and seconded to approve the April 12, 2005 meeting minutes.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:                   The Treasurer’s Report was given by Jim Poe.  Jim provided a new CPCC Treasurer’s Report dated 4/29/05.  This month we had 5 new memberships totaling $150.00.  April’s 50/50 raffle deposit was $100.00, for a new club balance (at the end of April) of $3,865.33.

Jim asked the club to approve a reimbursement to Barbara Collier for the July 4th Sly Park Picnic Area Reservation, of $108.00.  Jim Davis made a motion and the club seconded it.  Jim will pay Barbara.

If anyone would like an updated club roster please see Jim.  (Due to personal information on the rooster, Jim doesn’t want to make a bunch of copies and leave them on the tables at the restaurant.)

Secretary:                                 PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!!!!    Will someone else take on the responsibility of Secretary?????

Old Business Continued:

April 16, 2005                         Car Show at Family Chevrolet – (Phil Slack)

Phil spoke with Family Chevrolet and they were very, very pleased with the event.  We had a total of 38 cars show up, with at least one car from every generation.  They would like to do another event, maybe in July, where they would clear out the front lot for better traffic appeal.  Phil mentioned that we should invite other clubs to participate as well.  Everyone had a really good time.

Perhaps we can do a 50/50 raffle at the next event, or maybe even a pot-luck of some sort.  Also, we should make sure that there is shade at the event.  Many people offered to bring umbrellas.

Family Chevrolet will do a better job of advertising the next event.

April 30th – May 1st                Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis – (Braithwaite)

Only a few couples attended this event; Brusby’s, Braithwaite’s and Niemi’s.  Some played golf, others went to the Spa.  A great time was had by all.

Mark found a really exciting road for the return trip (Ron felt it was too rugged for tanks!).  It was a little rocky and narrow, but everyone made it home in one piece.

Upcoming Events:

September 15 – 18, 2005       37th Annual Tahoe Tour - Fresno Corvettes  (Brusby)

This year’s theme is “Planet Corvette” (Outer Space).  Instead of hosting a courtesy room, the club decided to have a cocktail room to visit in between the courtesy rooms.  The club has nominated Julia Brusby to organize this event.  (Other members will assist).

Everyone should start thinking about their costumes now!

Barbara also has a map of the Forest Inn Suites showing which rooms are good to reserve.  She’ll bring copies to the next meeting.  In the meantime, call Forest Inn Suites directly at (800) 822-5950 to make your hotel reservations as soon as possible.

For more information go to www.corvettesoffresno.com/tahoe.

Registration forms must be completed and received with payment by August 31, 2005 in order to avoid a $20.00 late charge.

The date has been set for the 2nd Annual Angels Camp Picnic.  Mark your calendar now – more information to follow.

The date for the 2005 Christmas Party is set for December 10th.  The Best Western and the DJ are already booked.  A vote was taken and everyone wanted Diane to do the catering again, so Sylma will contact her.

Barbara H. reminded everyone to start looking for raffle prizes now.  Since the club has a pretty good balance in its account, the event coordinators will look into getting some nice raffle prizes, like maybe plane tickets somewhere?, or a Room & Show Package?.

                                                More information to follow.

FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS

New Events / Ideas:

If you have an idea for a run on the spur of the moment, just call a few people on the roster and ask them to call a few people.  These runs are usually the most fun!  Or, you can e-mail everyone with a few days notice.

1.                  Bethel’s had to postpone the event they had scheduled to the Jackson Casino on May 22nd.  More details will be discussed at the next meeting.

2.                  Stan Anderson would like to put together a run to Ice House during the last two weeks of June (June 25th?).  He will arrange for a group lunch at Los Hermanos in Pollock Pines on the return.  There was a lot of interest, more information to be discussed at the next meeting.

3.                  John McCoy brought in a flyer for a car rally around Lake Tahoe for June 4th.  If anyone is interested, meet at the Pollock Pines Safeway at 9:30 a.m.  $25.00 per car.  Call (530) 644-8958 to sign up.  Supports the American Cancer Society.

4.                  Annette Kono told the club about an event taking place on May 14th, supporting the Auburn area animal rescue.  There is a $25.00 entry fee, BBQ and many raffle prizes.  All proceeds will go to charity.  This event is open to all cars and will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.  If there is a lot of interest, and go in as a club, we can park together on the lawn.  Unfortunately, there wasn’t much interest – not enough notice.

Closing:                                    A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting; meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m.

The next REGULAR Cameron Park Corvette Club Meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2005 at the Denny’s Restaurant in Cameron Park, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  (Come early if you want to eat dinner).

50/50 Raffle:                             The 50/50 raffle brought in a total of $163.00.  $81.00 went to the club and $82.00 went to the winner of the raffle, Harland Dains (AGAIN!!!!)
