OLD BUSINESS
Minutes: Motion to approve the April 11, 2006 meeting minutes was seconded and
approved.
Treasurer’s Report: Report given by Jim
Poe: Deposits=$90.00 from last months
50/50, 6 new memberships totaling $180.
Expenses=$350.00 deposit for the Christmas party (band). Ending account balance=$4,142.79.
Secretary: Shannon
Anderson: Apologies to Rick and Karen Samoian for
misspelling their last name in the agenda.
Clothing: See Anne Jones if you
would like to order anything.
Webmaster: Pete Ruff: Pete has not received any photos from the
last two runs. He added some good
sounds to the “Our Cars” page on the web.
Historian: Keith Becky – if you
have hard copy pictures Keith will put them in the albums.
April 23, 2006: Nevada City Run (John
& Kathy Reese) – This was a good run with a stop for lunch then a tour of
the Empire Mine. The weather was
marginal with a few sprinkles.
April 29, 2006: Napa Valley Picnic
& Poker Run - Napa CA (Vicki Braithwaite) -
There were eleven cars that participated.
The weather was great, not too hot.
They ate at the V. Sattui Vineyard. They got into a little trouble for bringing
a picnic lunch. Results of the poker
run: Julia Brusby
1st place, Tom B. 2nd place, Shaylynne
and Vickie tied for 3rd.
April 30, 2006: Lunch Run in the
Foothills- Jackson, CA (Rick and Karen Samoian) –
Four cars made this run up the Volcano for lunch at the St. George Hotel. It was a good time. Whoops – Joe Ryan tried to meet the group
at Teresa’s, but the plans changed to lunch at the St. George. Joe had a good time anyway.

May 12-13, 2006: Gold Rush Car Show – Oroville CA (Gil & Donna Alcaraz) – The Alcaraz’s are
leaving Friday. Send them an email if
you are going.
May 21, 2006: Picnic/Poker Run,
Angels Camp (Bob & Mary Graham).
There are 19 cars attending. If
you want to join in, let Bob or Mary know.
We will be meeting at the Grahams at 9:00 AM for continental
breakfast then on to Angels Camp for a picnic/BBQ with games, prizes, etc…
The club is providing the BBQ meat, bring a dish to share.
May 26-30, 2006: Checkerboard Corvette
Gathering, Primm, NV – Rocky Pearson (Club
Host?) - No interest.
June 3, 2006: Prospect Motors
Corvette Show, Jackson, CA – (Host?) – This is
for all model Corvettes.
June 3-4, 2006: Vette Magic 31- Sacramento, CA (Dana & Anne
Jones) – This is a car show on Saturday.
The Drags are on Sunday, you can just show up to the Drags – you don’t
really need a fast car to participate.
If you pre-register you save a few dollars. Arrive early around 7:00
AM. This is at the Marriott off US 50.
June 10, 2006: Family Chevrolet Car
Show – Shingle Springs, CA (Stan Anderson) –
Approximately 22 cars will show up for this event. Suggestion to get at least one car from
each generation. Nolan Adams will be
bringing his ’53 Vette which was featured on the US Postal stamp. Keith will bring the club easy up and has 2
others if we need them. We need to get
a flyer to Family Chevrolet. Barbara
Collier and George Goolsby will work together on
this. This is from 10:00
AM - 3:00 PM. At Family Chevrolet in Shingle Springs.
June 18, 2006: Classic Car Show Green Valley Community Church – Placerville CA (Stan Anderson) –
This is open to all models/makes/year vehicles. The $20 pre-registration fee goes to the
churches CARS ministry. Car repairs
are made for folks that otherwise could not afford it or donated cars are
fixed up and given to people in need.
The Camaro Club is participating in
this. Send an email to Stan if you are
interested.
June 23-25, 2006: Corvettes at Lake Tahoe – Stateline, NV (John Clemens) – If
you are attending this event the group will meet at 8:00
AM
in the Safeway parking lot, Cameron Park.
The show is at the Horizon and there will be reserved parking with
security.
July 4, 2006: Pleasant Valley 4th
of July parade & Club BBQ at Jenkinson Lake (Sly Park, Pollock Pines)
(Barbara Collier/George Goolsby) – Parade goers
will meet at the Park & Ride on Missouri Flat Road. We’ll stage at Leisure Lane and decorate
the cars there. The Parade starts at 11:00. Bring lots of candy! Someone will be at the park & ride to
pick up your food for the picnic and transport it to Sly Park.
July 7-9, 2006: High Desert Corvettes Deschutes River Run, Redmond OR. (George Goolsby) - Four
cars are attending. Meet at 8:00
AM
on Friday at the Safeway parking lot in Cameron Park. There will be a dinner on Friday night,
great raffle prizes. The group is
staying at the Eagle Crest.
July 21-22, 2006: All Corvette
Gathering, Reno NV (George Goolsby) – More information next month. Sign up now, if you are going.
August 5-7,
2006: Mammoth Run, Mammoth, CA
(John & Kathy Reese) – John received an email response from the Holiday
Inn, they are not interested in doing our group, there will be no group
rate. Their internet rate is $132, the old place was $139 at the group rate. To stay at the Holiday Inn you need to book
your own room. John has reserved 10
rooms at the Shiloh Inn, if you book with the Shiloh, let John know so he
can make the necessary adjustments to the rooms he has reserved and will not
get charged for them. This is a run
Saturday/Sunday to Mammoth and Monday through Yosemite.
August 19, 2006: BBQ & Pot luck at
the Braithwaite’s House - Keith will BBQ, the club is providing the
meat. It is potluck with BYOB. When the date is closer, Vicki will
coordinate more.
August 25-26 2006: Overnight Run – Mendocino, CA (Barbara Collier) –
It’s a go! Sign up with Joann at the
Little River Inn. There are about 15
going. We’ll meet on Friday to
Caravan, more information provided later.
Sept. 14-16, 2006: The Sunday Funnies
Past & Present, 38th Annual Tahoe Tour, Corvettes of Fresno at
Tahoe (Keith & Dawn Becky) – The Becky’s are going. It will be a great time!
October 5-8, 2006: Corvette Roulette, Las Vegas CA – Las Vegas Corvettes
– This will be removed from the agenda as there is no interest.
October 7, 2006: Annual Show &
Shine/Fly-In at Cameron Park Airpark, CA – (Phil Slack) – This is a Plane/Car
event. There is no flyer yet. More information will be provided later.
December 9, 2006: Annual CPCC Christmas
Party (Barbara Rodgers, George Goolsby, Shaylynne Slack, Keith Becky) - The room is booked, the
band is hired. The new chair for the
committee is Rick and Karen Samoian. You can donate prizes for the raffle. Motion was made, seconded and approved to
write a check for $450 for the purchase of raffle prizes. Last year many prizes were purchased at
Costco. Hint to our sponsors to
contribute raffle prizes.
FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS
New Events/Runs The 15th
Anniversary National Caravan to Bowling Green Kentucky is coming in 2009
Motion
was made, seconded and approved to hold the monthly club meetings at Family
Chevrolet. They are working on getting
us seating; in the meantime you may want to bring a chair. Pick up dinner before the meeting if you
like.
Suggestion
was made to organize a run with the Camaro Club of El Dorado. Stan will look into this.

Adjournment: Motion was made,
seconded and approved to adjourn the meeting.
RAFFLE 50/50: A record $270! $135 goes to the winner Barbara Collier and
$135 to the Club.
