CAMERON PARK CORVETTE CLUB

     MEETING MINUTES February 8, 2011

 

Call to Order:         The meeting was called to order at 7:00 P.M. by Club Vice President Karen Strachan as President Phil Fischbach was not in attendance.

                                                  

Guests:                No guests. 

                                   

Members in         

Attendance:         No attendance was taken at this meeting.

 

Minutes:                   Motion made by Jon Sivilich and seconded by Vicki Braithwaite to approve the January 11, 2011 minutes.

 

Treasurer:            Peggy Sue Croswhite reported the 1/31/11 Ending Balance of $3,273.53.

Membership dues is due. Anyone who has not paid by 2/28/11 will be dropped from the March Roster. The only recognized Honorary Members are Jim & Sylma Davis.

                              

Secretary:               Cathleen Fischback was not in attendance.   Peggy Sue filled in (to a minimal extend) but will be glad when Cathleen is back.  (Peggy Sue took notes; the notes were converted in to this format by Pete.)  

 

Clothing:              Cathleen Fischback was not in attendance.     

 

Webmaster:            Pete Ruff said the photos from the annual planning meeting and the Super Bowl party were posted.

 

Raffle Organizers:
Patty McCoy and Bob Graham Bob was not in attendance, Vicki Braithwaite helped Patty.  $170 in tickets sold.

 

Club Historian:      Keith Becky was not in attendance.

 

Old Business:       January 23rd – Annual Planning meeting.  Vicki gave a quick recap of the meeting saying that everybody had a good time, and the many events had been scheduled for the coming year.

 

Feburary 6th  - Super Bowl party.  Randy and JoAnn put on a great party.   We had lots of food, and an enjoyable time was had by all, even though not everybody cared about the game.

 

New Business:      a.  February 20th  – Feed & Fuel Dinner Run (Lodi) Host – Karen Strachan & George Goolsby. The date has been changed due to scheduling conflicts for Karen and George. The new date is this Saturday night, 2/12/11. Karen is making reservations for 6:00 PM. We will meet at the Starbucks on Latrobe Road in El Dorado Hills at 4:30 PM to head to Lodi.  George will put out an email to the club with this information. Please RSVP so Karen knows how many to tell the restaurant how many to expect.
b.  February
26th  Crab Feed (Cameron Park) - no host Tickets are sold out.

c.  Mach 5th  Dinner Run to the Buckhorn (Winters) Host - George Goolsby.  Mentioned but no discussion concerning this event.

d.  March 19th St Patty's Day party hosted by Skip Crawford & Michele Stewart and Chef George.  A motion to have the club pay for all food for this event was proposed and passed by majority vote of those in attendance. George will take care of all the food including dessert. This is a BYOB party.

e.  Honorary membership proposal – Barbara Collier.  Barbara was not in attendance.  It was noted by Pete Ruff that Nolan Adams
, Corvette historian and NCRS guru, was a founding member of the Cameron Park Corvette Club.

 

Floor open to Members
a. Ideas and volunteers for new events or runs.  It was requested that NEW BUSINESS cover events and runs further into the future.  This is especially important for those outings that require advanced ticket purchase and/or reservations.

 

For the Good of the Order
Randy Bisbee was able to drive his Corvette to the meeting tonight - one handed!  Note Randy has a severely fractured wrist that is pinned at an awkward angle.
Rob & Peggy Sue’s daughter is currently ranked 38th out of 1,500 in her quest to get into the
Las Vegas Metro Police Academy.
Pete Ruff also announced  the name Dave Mc Clellan, retired Corvette engineer,  will be present at the Lake Tahoe Corvette club event in June this year per the Tahoe Club’s web site.
