OLD BUSINESS

Minutes:                                   A motion was made and seconded to approve the December 14, 2004 meeting minutes.  Motion carried.

Treasurer’s Report:                   The Treasurer’s Report was given by Jeff Nickles, with the assistance of the new Treasurer, Jim (or Joe, ha, ha) Poe.

Jeff provided a new register report dated 1/10/2005 indicating that the club now has a balance of $2,523.33.  He also reported on the expenses/deposits associated with the Christmas Party.  Total expenses paid by the club were $3,242.08.  Total Income from raffles, auction, etc. was $1,980.00.  Therefore, the Christmas Party cost the club $1,262.08 which was really cheap considering how much fun everyone had and how well it was put together.

Jeff was holding a few membership checks that he turned over to Jim for deposit.  He reminded everyone that the $30.00 membership fees are due by 1/31/05.  Checks are to me made payable to Cameron Park Corvette Club and given to Jim Poe.

Thanks for everything Kim & Jeff – Good luck Jim (& Annette)!

Old Business Continued:

Secretary:                                 Shaylynne again asked if anyone would be willing to take over as secretary as she has done it for two years now and really doesn’t have the time anymore.  Unfortunately, no one offered so Shaylynne will continue as secretary.

NEW BUSINESS

Web Master:                            Pete indicated that the Lampshire’s email address was not valid.  Lyle or Billie, please call Pete Ruff to discuss.

Jim Poe has given Pete hundreds of pictures on a CD Rom which Pete has willingly taken on as his next project to get them onto the web site.

Going forward, if Pete sends out a distribution email, it will seem that it is being sent from the originator of the email instead of Pete.  Thanks Pete for all of your hard work!

Club Historian:                          Anyone with photos is encouraged to get them to Keith for the photo albums.

Clothing:                                   Vicki has forms for shirts and jackets if anyone is interested.

Jim indicated that there were only 5 rooms left at the Hilton Garden Inn in Gilroy for Friday night, April 8th, from the 25 rooms that they had held.  Remember, you must call the Hilton directly to make your reservations at (408) 840-7000.  Make sure that you tell the receptionist that you are with the Cameron Park Corvette Club in order to get the group rate of $79.00 plus tax.   Once you have made your reservations, you must notify the Davis’ of your confirmation number so that they can keep track of the rooms reserved.  It seems there is a bit of confusion with the night clerks when making these reservations, so if possible, call during the day.

The Davis’ also have 20 rooms blocked at the Courtesy Inn in San Simeon for Saturday, April 9th.  If you want one of these rooms, contact the Davis’ immediately, as the rooms are going fast.  (Rate is $69.00 + tax).

Roster/Newsletter:                    It seems that no one is without e-mail now.  But if anyone needs copies of minutes, etc. please contact Shaylynne.

FLOOR OPEN TO MEMBERS

New Events / Ideas:

If you have an idea for a run on the spur of the moment, just call a few people on the roster and ask them to call a few people.  These runs are usually the most fun!  Or, you can e-mail everyone with a few days notice.

Dan Groat brought up an idea to make a run to the Black Hawk Car Museum in Danville.  If anyone is interested, contact Dan or discuss at next meeting.

If was discussed that since the club has so much money, maybe we could organize a run that would include a lunch or dinner paid for by the club.  Everyone is to think of something to do and bring their ideas to the next meeting.

Miscellaneous:

The manager of Denny’s has asked us all not to go out the side entrance.  The gate is now armed and the alarm will sound.

It was decided at the last meeting that any club trophies or plaques that have been won in the past should be given to Family Chevrolet to display since they are now our sponsors.  Bob Graham asked the question, “who has these items now?”  Please, if you are holding a club trophy or plaque, bring it to the next meeting and Phil will get them to Nick at Family Chevrolet.  (It seems the club won a trophy at the Christmas Parade in Placerville this past year that may still be at the Chamber of Commerce?  Can whoever organized the parade event make sure they pick up the trophy and bring it to the next meeting – Thanks!)

Shaylynne found the “Club Motto” in the old club records, made copies and distributed.  Phil read the Motto and then Bob Graham demonstrated the “Club Wave” (picture waving your finger over your head showing that we’re turning around because we’re lost)

Club Motto

To have Fun!

To drive that car, that for some reason is sucking all that money from your checkbook!

To meet other people who are stuck in the past and love it!

And to assist each other in having a great time by owning a “legend”.

Corvettes Forever!!!!

It was discussed that perhaps Family Chevrolet can promote a club event at their location.  Maybe they can advertise on the radio, etc.  Phil will contact Nick to discuss.

There was discussion regarding the new C6-Z06.  It runs the quarter in the low 11’s.  The body is designed 3” wider with flares and scoops.  Release date is not yet known.

Closing:                                    A motion was made and seconded to adjourn the meeting; meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.

The next REGULAR Cameron Park Corvette Club Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 8, 2005 at the Denny’s Restaurant in Cameron Park, beginning at 7:00 p.m.  (Come early if you want to eat dinner).

50/50 Raffle:                             The 50/50 raffle brought in a total of $145.00.  $75.00 went to the club and $70.00 went to the winner of the raffle, John McCoy, our lucky guest - Congrats John!              (Everyone will get the right amount of tickets at the next meeting, we were short tonight – that’s why you received less for your money.)

Two other raffles took place for two Corvette Calendars donated by Tom Krakker.  Thanks Tom, for the donation!

One was won by John Reese and the other by Bob Graham.
