bulletAugust  28th - MS Dixie Tahoe Diner Cruise                                                      Hosted by Rob & Peggy Sue Croswhite
This run is shaping up as a drive to the lake, dinner and dancing on the Dixie, and for those who wish stay overnight and drive home the following day.  More info to follow as it becomes available.
• The MS Dixie Dinner Cruise run will be on Saturday, August 28, 2010.
• Parking at the Zephyr Cove Resort is $8 per car. (I have no idea how big or what the surface of the lot is.)
• We can utilize their shuttle service for $6 per person. They will pick up and drop off at many of the hotels in town. (Reservations must be made to utilize this service so your decision can’t be made at the last minute.)
• We will board the boat at 5:30 and disembark at 9:00.
• Our reservations are for the first seating.
• I've reserved a sit down meal that includes shrimp cocktail, garlic bread, Caesar salad, 4 entrees to choose from and dessert. Please keep in mind that the menu specifics are subject to change at the discretion of the company.
• The cost of dinner is $59 per person. Tax and gratuity are included.
• There is a no host bar.
• Live music is provided.
• As I have to pay a non-refundable deposit by 6/15 I will be collecting payment in full at Tuesday night’s meeting.
• All checks need to be made out to me (Peggy Sue Croswhite) as I’ll pay Lake Tahoe Cruises using my credit card.
• There will be NO refunds on this event. If you decide you don’t want to or can’t go for some reason please feel free to find someone else in the club to take your place. It would be nice if you could let me know but the transaction would be between you and them.
• If you can’t make it to the meeting but want to go please shoot me an email letting me know then pop a check in the mail to me. (3700 Springer Road, Placerville, CA 95667)
• I haven’t and don’t intend to reserve any hotel rooms as the 6 places I’ve called will not hold less than a block of 15 rooms that time of year.
• Be aware that many, but not all, hotels up there require a 2 night stay during summer months.
• If you plan to spent the night up there I’d recommend you make your lodging arrangements very soon.

In summary, the shuttle & cruise is $65 per person or $130 per couple. I’ll be collecting payment in full at Tuesday’s meeting. There will be no refunds.  Email Peggy Sue

If you plan to show your Corvette, let Phil know so he can plan for the space required.  Also, plan to meet at Starbucks in EDH at 7:30AM so we can enter as a group.

 2011

April

bullet

April 15 - 17, 2011 - 16th Annual Gambler's Classic - Laughlin, NV                                           No Club Host at this Time

Let the fun begin! Corvettes of Bakersfield will bring back the Gambler's Classic in 2011. Corvettes of Bakersfield wants to extend a personal invitation to all corvette owners who joined us in 2007 for the 15th Annual Gambler's Classic to come back on April 15-17, 2011 for the 16th Annual Gambler’s Classic at the Riverside Resort in Laughlin for another great weekend of all-corvette fun.
As the Gambler's Classic grew in popularity over the years leading up to 2007, we struggled with finding a way to continue this great all-corvette event. We grew to approximately 600 registered corvettes, and our participants wanted the event to be held in Laughlin. Unfortunately, there were no hotel/casinos that could comfortably accommodate these numbers. A good problem, but still a problem we had to overcome. We took a few years off, but now we are committed to bring the Gambler's Classic back for another fifteen years.
We plan to make the 16th Annual Gambler’s Classic better than ever! “Hot Lava”, a favorite in years past, will headline on Friday night for a Hawaiian themed Luau Dinner Buffet which will include food, music, dancing and fun in the beautiful Starview Room overlooking the river.
Saturday morning will feature the traditional poker run to Oatman, AZ where you can check out this interesting little town with its wild burros running loose (bring your carrots). “The Press”, a local Bakersfield band, will keep things hoppin” at the car show. The awards ceremony and raffle will be held late on Saturday afternoon. The rest of the weekend is yours to enjoy on your own.
Our challenge, as in years past, is how to accommodate a large numbers of people. We are able to guarantee the entire program to the first 300 cars registered. All registrations will be accepted, but registrations received after the first 300 will be given the option to participate with some limitations. Regardless, we feel confident that all participants will have a good time.
As a 2007 participant in our last Gambler's Classic, Please join us again in 2011. We encourage you to register early so that you can enjoy the full program. We assure you that any request for refund up to the late registration date of March 12, 2011 will result in a hassle-free and full refund.
You can find registration forms and information at our website click here.
If you have any questions, please call Ken Taylor at (661) 578-2388 or Steve Taylor at (661) 809-6464.

See you at the river in 2011 ... we'll have a great time
.
