Anytime! - Join the
Old Guys Lunch runs during the week when the Roads and Restaurants aren't
crowded!
Do you wanna' drive your Vette' more
often?
Do you have time during the normal work-week?
Do you like to go out for brunch or lunch? Ok then, this is for you!
Quite a few Cameron Park Corvette Club members are retired, and we try to
get ourselves, and our cars, "our to lunch (or brunch)" every week or so.
Of course that's always dependent on the old weather. This is NOT a highly
organized event, just a fun get-together, usually including our
significant others, so it's more social that technical. To that end, I
would like to develop an e-mail list of those that would like to be
notified, and possibly join us.
This is an invitation to members, as well as non-members that would like
to see what we are all about before joining our club, or for just
something to do during the week. I think you would really enjoy rubbing
shoulders with a bunch of fun loving and informed Vette' folks.
If this sounds like something you would be interested in, please
email Rick and he will add you to
the notification list, no obligation to attend anything. And, we DO NOT
SELL OR SHARE e-mail addresses with ANYONE.

17th Annual Gambler's Classic -
Riverside Resort, Laughlin, NV
No Club Host at this time
Happy New Year from
Corvettes of Bakersfield.
We wanted to send out a reminder to our 2011 participants about the 17th
Annual Gambler's Classic coming up in April at Laughlin. We finished the
holidays with 72 registrations received, so we currently have plenty of
available space. With that said, in past years most of the registrations
come rolling in after the holidays and we can only offer the "full
program" to the first 300 registrations. Last year we had 242 corvettes
register for the Gambler's Classic and this year we have a few new clubs
participating ... so it is possible we might hit or exceed 300 Corvettes
this year.
If you plan on joining us this
year, we suggest that you not wait until the last minute so that you can
be assured of the full show (including the Friday night dinner show). We
have finalized our entertainment for Friday night and it includes a live
band, a hypnotist and finally Elvis. A pretty crazy mix of entertainment
... but should be a full night of fun.
One final note. We have found
out that the Riverside Resort is having a Saturday evening Doobie
Brothers concert in the outdoor amphitheatre. If you are Doobie Brothers
fans and would like to attend the concert, it begins about an hour or so
after our awards ceremony ends. It is also important for you to make
sure to get your hotel reservations made early because they expect the
hotel to be sold out for the weekend.
Information on the Gambler's
Classic can be found at
corvettesofbakersfield.org. Links
to the event schedule, hotel registration, car show registration, etc.
can be found on the page.
If you have any questions please call Ken Taylor at (661) 578-2388 or
Steve Taylor at (661) 809-6464.
We hope to see you in April.

October 20 - Western Railroad

This will be a leisurely tour of
the delta from Sacramento via Rio Vista to the museum on highway 12 east
of Fairfield. The museum is mostly filled with streetcars and
interurban cars.

drive, instead slow down and smell the roses and enjoy the delta
scenery. No ferries will be taken in deference to Corvette's low
ground clearance.
